I wrote a short letter to the 'Times' answering a long one from Dr Vernon Bartlet, who made an appeal to religious Anglicans to allow Welsh Disestablishment to pass!
At 11 a.m. the Committee of Chapter met in my house. We sate for two hours. I then wrote out a Report, and sent it to the Dean.
I shewed young Lawrence & his wife over the Abbey. We spent an hour & a half in the Church.
Ella & her guests went to the theatre. I remained at home. Cyril Hayward came to see me, & stayed till nearly prayer–time.
