Tuesday, December 19th, 1911.

A representative of the widow of Signor Randegger came to ask whether I wd sanction a Memorial Service for her husband in St Margaret's, Westminster. I refused on the ground that he had no parochial, personal, or official connection with the church.

We lunched with Mr Adam. Mrs Chapin & her daughter Julia (who contemplates matrimony) were there, & talked, O Heavens!, like a mill–race! Then we called on Mrs Griffith; and went to see Mr Jamieson's pictures.

I dined with Sir Kenneth. The other guests were Ahmed Ali, Lord Justice Fletcher Moulton, & Mr Neish. We had a very pleasant evening.
