The Royal Progress through the streets took place today. It was very magnificent – the finest show I have ever seen. The weather remained fine until everything was well over, & then turned to raining in earnest.

~~"Keep your eyes on the cloud by day and the pillar by night, & never mind your steps. The direction is the main point."~~
