Monday, September 5th, 1910.
Ralph & Kitty went off to Shrewsbury. He took away with him my volume of Acton's Essays on Modern History.
Yesterday I must have contracted a chill for today I am shivering & miserable. I went to bed early & next day remained indoors, not even attending the Abbey services, but reading thro' Sparrow–Simpson's "Roman Catholic Opposition to Papal Infallibility". Gilbert arrived about 5 p.m. to make a short stay here.
