15th Sunday after Trinity, September 4th, 1910.
I celebrated the Holy Communion in S. Margaret's at 8 a.m. There were 15 comts.
At Mattins S. Margaret's appeared to be quite full. I preached from the words, "Ye cannot serve God & Mammon". Inge preached at the Abbey.
In the afternoon I preached on "Christianity and Military Service", quoting Gilbert's letter to me, and debating the question with direct reference to the Territorials. There was a very large congregation.
At 7 p.m. I went to the Abbey, & heard an eloquent sermon from Preb. Nevison Loraine.
Mary, Gilbert, & Clarence came to supper.
