4th Sunday in Lent, March 6th, 1910.
Knox celebrated at 8 a.m. There were 30 commts. At Mattins the congregation was fairly large, but it was restless, and there were absent some familiar faces. Runciman was present. I preached with difficulty by reason of a bad cold & a desire to cough. My text was taken from the Epistle for the day, "Jerusalem which is above is free; which is our mother". Afterwards I celebrated: there were 90 commts.
I did not attempt my lecture at the Leysian Mission, on account of my cold.
Murray & his wife; & Copland & his wife came to lunch. There was a very large congregation at Evensong, when I preached on "The claim of Christ in the Home".
Murray, Elsie & Marjory Graham, with Linetta & Mary came to supper.
