Friday, September 11th, 1908.

My letter appeared in the 'Times' with so many misprints as to suggest that the usual revision of proofs had been omitted.

We lunched with Prof. Pringle–Pattison. His house stands on the edge of a beautiful loch, which comes to the visitor who has just moved slowly up the rather steep drive as a surprise. Here also was one Mr Cormick, the secretary of the Carnegie Trust.
