2nd Sunday in Lent, March 15th, 1908.
There were 28 cts at 8 a.m. At 11 a.m. the congregation was good: but Members were scarce. I preached the 2nd sermon of the course on 'Discipline'.
At Evensong there was a fair congregation. I preached on Christ's Version of the Commandments.
Baddeley came in to supper.

The Letters of Business Ctee met on Monday afternoon and continued till 1.30 p.m. on Wednesday. We entertained the Archdeacons of Exeter and Leicester as guests.
On Tuesday, the 17th March, I addressed a very large meeting in the Leysian Hall. It was the annual meeting of the Methodist 'London Mission'. I observed much fanatical enthusiasm when the Liquor Bill was mentioned.
On Wednesday the Sub–Dean, Radcliffe, & I went to the chambers of Mr Lush & consulted with him anent Mr Turner's case.
On Thursday the 19th, the Admiral came to say Good bye before going off to Naples to see his brother. He presented me with his wife's watch, & said many very moving & affectionate words.
On Saturday the 21st, I carried the M.S. of my Article on the Educational Crisis to Lambeth, & left it for the Archbishop to comment upon.
