5th Sunday after Trinity, June 30th, 1907.

I celebrated at 8 a.m. There were 23 commts, including Archdeacon Watkins. At Mattins there was by no means a large congregation. Sir Henry Fowler, Col. Williams, and Sir Henry Craik were recognisable among the M.P.s present. I preached on the Conversion of S. Paul, of which the record was read as the 2nd Lesson.

Archdeacon Watkins came to lunch; also Brown, Wilson, Waterfield, Miss Scott, & Ethel.

Ernest Bennett came to discuss the great question what should be his way in the world. We agreed that the Civil Service would be best.

In the evening I preached an old Sermon, also on S. Paul. Signorina C. came in to supper.
