Christmas Eve, December 24th, 1904.
The Standard contained a column and a half on "The Meaning of Christmas for the 20th Century"; being the little article I wrote for some American paper. The interlacement of journalistic ventures becomes embarrassing. I finished a sermon for S. Margaret's, and Harold helped me to get the major part of it copied out for the "Times". Copies of "Cross-Bench Views" were sent to the Dean, Beeching, & Albert Saxton. To Blackmore I gave "the Value of the Bible".
