I wrote a second sermon for tomorrow: it took just 5 1/2 hours to write. Both the sermons are on the Book of Daniel, which I frankly treat as written c. 164, & illustrate from the 1st Book of Maccabees.

I have read through Frere's ‘History of the English Church under Elizabeth & James I'. It is a mere party-pamphlet, though well informed & carefully written.

Also, I have read McGiffert's Apostles' Creed - a careful & suggestive monograph.
