2nd Sunday in Lent, February 28th, 1904.
I celebrated in S. Margaret's at 8 a.m. There were 30 cts. Then, breakfast ended, & Watson safely given over to the Dean's keeping in Jerusalem Chamber, I returned to my study & cleared off some overdue correspondence. Letters were written to the following:-
- Lady Manners
- Gerald Henson Esq.
- Cyril Alington
- Mr Joseph Vincent
- Dibblee
- Albert Saxton
- Hardinge
Then for an hour I read the excellent Chillingworth.
Headlam & his wife lunched here.
I preached in the Abbey on S. Matt.V.20. There was a very large, & attentive congregation.
