From 1845 to 1929 the meetings of the general assembly of the Church of Scotland were held in Victoria Hall at the top of The Royal Mile in Edinburgh. After the Church's union with the United Free Church (UFC) in 1929, the general assembly of the united Church was held in the UFC's assembly hall.
