William Addison (1883-1962), Univ. of Durham, 1912; ord. 1913; military chaplain; awarded V.C. for attending the wounds of injured soldiers under heavy artillery fire unaided, and assisting their return to the trenches, Sanna-i-Yat, Mesopotamia, 1916; senior chaplain to the Forces, 1934-8. 1939-; rector, Great Hautbois, Norfolk, 1938-58.
