Agnes Headlam-Morley

Agnes Headlam-Morley (1902-86; ODNB), historian who specialised in Anglo-German relations, reflecting her dual ancestry; Somerville Coll., Oxford; fellow in Politics, St Hugh's, 1930-70; selected as parliamentary candidate (C) for Barnard Castle, 1936; Montague Burton professor of International Relations, Oxford, 1948-70, the first female appointment to the professoriate at Oxford; niece of Arthur Haley Headlam-Morley, bishop of Gloucester, whom she accompanied on his visit to Berlin, 1938; cousin of Cuthbert Headlam.
