Walter Whittingham

Walter Whittingham (1861-1941; WWW), bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, 1923-40; opponent of Anglo-Catholicism and one of six bishops to oppose the Revised Prayer Book, 1928, reversing his luke-warm support the previous year; notable speaker in the Church Assembly, particularly on administrative matters within the Church.
