Charles Dodd (1884-1973;ODNB), biblical scholar and Congregational minister; as Norris-Hulse professor of divinity at Cambridge in 1935, became the first non-Anglican since the Reformation to occupy such a chair at either of the ancient universities; gifted writer, lecturer, and broadcaster who engaged the interest of wide audiences; FBA, 1946.
