Harold Francis Davidson

Harold Davidson (1875-1937; ODNB), showman turned clergyman; rector of Stiffkey, Norfolk, 1906-32; naval chaplain 1915-19; rescue work with young women in London ended in public notoriety; in 1932 found guilty on five counts of immorality by a consistory court and defrocked; reverted to previous career to pay legal expenses, but when refused employment by theatres, performed stunts along Blackpool's 'golden mile' throughout the summer season.
