Huey Pierce Long
Huey Long (1893-1935), governor of Lousiana, 1928-32, and US senator, 1932; advocate of social programmes that went further than Rooseveldt's New Deal in addressing the effects of the Great Depression. Assassinated by Carl Weiss, a physician with a grudge against Long. See Volume 65.
