George Bailey
George Bailey (ord. 1925, Durham), curate, Hutton Henry, 1932; deposed by Henson on his conviction for gross indecency, February 1935, and sentenced to 9 months' imprisonment; had to be struck with a baton and handcuffed on his arrest; extensive newspaper reports of his trial in The Sunderland Echo and Northern Daily Mail c. 10 March; Henson destroyed Volume 64 of his Journal because of its account of the proceedings leading up to the trial.
