Angus Watson (1874-1961; ODNB), co-founder in 1904 of Angus Watson Ltd, a fish canning company in Newcastle, noted for its marketing success, but forcibly amalgamated with United Canners in 1925 following financial support from Lever Brothers; retired from the business in 1930 and devoted the rest of his life to philanthropy and public service; kt 1945; Congregationalist.
