Joseph Houldsworth Oldham
Joseph Oldham (1874-1969; ODNB), Scottish missionary and campaigner for racial justice in Africa during the interwar period; organiser of the Edinburgh world missionary conference, 1910; helped to establish the International Missionary Council, 1921, of which he became secretary; organiser of the world conference of church, community, and state at Oxford in 1937, led by William Temple as archbishop of York; opponent of Nazi policies towards the German church.
