George Grey Turner

George Grey Turner (1877-1951; ODNB), surgeon; graduated Newcastle medical school at the Univ. of Durham, 1898; m. (1908) Alice (Elsie) Grey (d. 1962); served in the Royal Army Medical Corps, 1914-18; professor of surgery at Newcastle, 1927-34; active in the medical profession, including membership of the Council of the Royal College of Surgeons, 1926-50; operated on Henson during his illness in 1926; 3 daughters and a son, Elston, MRSC, MC, Italy, 1944, and a secretary of the British Medical Association.
