Naomi Mitchison

Naomi Mitchison, née Haldane (1897-1999; ODNB), daughter of an Oxford University physiologist; m.1916 Dick Mitchison, later Labour MP 1945-64 and life peer; writer, especially of historical novels, expressing unusually frank opinions on sexual matters; member, Fabian Society; supporter of radical causes, including birth control; her Outline for boys and girls and their parents (1932), gave a review of liberal ideas.
