Louis Phillipe II, Duke of Orléans (1747-93), cousin of Louis XIV who changed his name to Phillipe Égalité in 1789 and supported the replacement of absolute by constitutional monarchy in France; voted for the death of Louis XVI in the National Convention, but himself guillotined in November 1793.
