Robert Peel Glanville Blatchford
Robert Blatchford (1851-1943; ODNB), journalist; co-founder and editor of The Clarion in 1891, a socialist newspaper with a wide circulation which Blatchford used after the Boer War to attack Christianity; his critics included G.K. Chesterton, who defended Christianity from his weekly column in The Daily News, brought together and published as God and my neighbour (1903).
