Edward Fowler (1631/2-1714; ODNB), bishop of Gloucester, 1691-1714; from a 'godly' puritan family, and influenced by the Cambridge Platonists; after some delay, conformed to the restored Church of England; defended his position against charges of 'latitudinarianism', in The principles and practices of certain moderate divines of the Church of England(1670).
