Catherine Tait [née Spooner]

Catharine Tait [née Spooner] (1819-78; ODNB), church and charity worker; m. (1843) Archibald Tait, later bishop of London and archbishop of Canterbury; died of illness after the death of her son, Crauford; her posthumously-published memoir (edited with a life of her son in 1879) of five of her daughters who died from scarlet fever in 1856 became a famous work of religious consolation.
