James Anthony Froude and Mark Pattison are conspicuous examples of the rebels, who bore permanent scars from their house of bondage.

Wright brought a Japanese clergyman, & a Vicar from Northumberland to see the chapel & have tea.

The "honey–moon" of Mussolini & the Pope is already disturbed. There is an ominous contrast between the Duce's speech in the Italian Parliament & the professions of affection which have been recently made. I cannot think that the concordat, which brings back the priest to the schools, will be long endorsed by the Italians.
