For a Christian bishop to be devoting Lent to the study of Byron's poems and letters is a proceeding entirely congruous with All Fools' Day.
We motored to Sunderland, and in S. Luke's Church I confirmed 68 candidates. On the whole I was better pleased then I expected to be, for the parishes represented were some of the least satisfactory in the diocese.
