Saturday, November 17th, 1923.

I travelled to Carlisle, and put up at the Deanery for the week–end. The new Canon, Oliver Quick, was staying there, & I had the opportunity of getting some conversation with him. He is an ardent supporter of the "Grey Book". I was startled by his almost fierce contempt for the Prayer Book as it stands. Rashdall was in bad health, indeed suffering much pain.
