Stanley Landreth, an Ordination candidate, came to see me, & stayed to lunch. Judge Moore, with his wife and his son Garth, also lunched, and afterwards viewed the Castle.
Wilson, Clayton, & I motored to New Shildon, where I instituted the Revd H.G.H. Shaddick to the Vicarage. There was a fair congregation including a number of Wesleyan local preachers. After service we had tea in the Vicarage, & then returned to the Castle. Wilson stayed the night.
Mackay, of All Saints, Margaret St., has the impudence to write to the "Guardian", pleading for the acceptance of the E.C.U. proposals for revising the Prayer Book. Have we really come to the pass of accepting the E.C.U. as a substitute for Law & Bishops?
