Tuesday, January 20th, 1920.

I motored to Staunton–on–Wye, and spent the whole morning in presiding over the Jarvis Trustees: after lunch I presided at meetings of the Poor Benefices Augmentation Fund, and the Emergency Fund. Then I sawed wood with William for an hour. After this I wrote many letters, and then read Dale's History of Congregationalism.

Dear Sir,

Super–Tax Assessment No. 1934st

I find that no demand for this tax has reached me, and, as I paid it last in November 1918, I think some mistake or omission must have happened. I should like to know what amount is due from me on account of Super–Tax, for the year ending 5th April, 1920.

Yours faithfully,

H. H. Hereford.

E.R. Havinson, Esq.

Clerk to the Special Commissioners of the Income Tax,
