Advent Sunday, November 30th, 1919.
The weather was unattractive, and the fact may go some way to explain the smallness of the congregation at the Cathedral when I preached at Mattins. The coughing of the Cheetham Hospital boys caused me much annoyance, but it had the sound of a genuine epidemic. At Evensong there was a large congregation, & it was very attentive.
