Much to my own chagrin, the doctor sent me back to bed, & there I continued with much discontent, reading for the most part, a volume sent me by the Editor: – "Faith & Freedom, being constructive Essays in the Application of Modernist Principles to the Doctrine of the Church" by Alfred Fawkes, W. Scott Palmer, Charles E. Raven, A. Clutton–Brock, Harold Anson, Winifred Mercier & Charles E. S. Matthews (Editor). These writers take themselves very seriously. Streeter came to see me in the evening, and talked for an hour. He also aspires to be a Prophet.
