I felt so greatly fatigued by the emotions and exertions of yesterday that I did little. My guests departed by the early train. Lady L. came in to dine quietly with us. She was very pleasant, and begged me to make her house in London my ordinary resting–place. This would be convenient, but might not be equally prudent.
