Saturday, January 26th, 1918.

Hadow appeared shortly before 11 a.m., & reminded me that there was a meeting of the economic committee arranged here for that hour. I had totally forgotten the arrangement. However, I was able, by sacrificing another morning, to attend. We agreed upon the report, & signed it. Hadow stayed to lunch, and then went to Wynyard where he had to [sic] arranged to stay with Lady Londonderry. I attended Evensong. Mrs Rolt, the Dean of York's married daughter, came for the night in order to attend the Commemoration tomorrow. Caröe arrived for the week–end shortly before dinner.
