1050th day

Our host motored us into Harrogate, where we consulted a doctor (Steward), Ella for her ears, I for my throat, & got little enough for our money! Then we motored to Mrs Barran, & lunched pleasantly enough. Finally we motored into Ripon, & caught a train which arrived in Durham about 4.30 p.m. We found Norman Henderson at the Deanery. After tea I showed him over the Cathedral, & took him for a short walk. After dinner I prepared a letter to the "Spectator", which I had substantially composed at Sawley, but I am not at all sure whether I shall send it.
