988th day

Fresh snow lay on the ground, though the sun shone brightly, when I got up. The day developed beautifully, but the temperature continued very low. Again I devoted the day to reading the Warden's Journals, & save for attending Mattins & Evensong, and walking round Houghall Wood with Logic, I did little else. Dawson Walker and his wife called at tea–time. Also Pemberton, who announced the engagement of his 2nd daughter. Oman sends me an informing letter about the college Library.
