964th day

We left Stow House after lunch, and travelled without discomfort to Dean's Yard, where we arrived a little before 6 p.m. There came to dine Mr Justice Sankey and his sister. I mentioned to the Judge my view that my visit to the "City Temple" was perfectly legal because there could be no "intrusion", where there were no rights of ministry: and he expressed his complete agreement. This opinion is the more weighty in view of the fact that he had himself been chancellor of a Welsh diocese. He gave us a very entertaining account of his experience with the Irish rebels, whom he had had to try.
