I received the Holy Communion at 8 a.m.: attended Mattins & Evensong: worked at the C.T. sermon: walked with Lillingston: wrote letters. I wrote to the Bishop of Manchester suggesting that it might be sound policy to advance a public demand for a Royal Commission on the Relations of Church & State. After dinner I read "The Pickwick Papers" aloud to my family. The little obituary notice on Addis, which I wrote at his brother's request appeared in the "Morning Post" of yesterday.
