I received the Holy Communion at 8 a.m. Lillingston celebrated. Also I attended Mattins & Evensong. I showed Gilbert and Alice over the Cathedral, but they are much too absorbed in one another to have much concern for anything else! I received a letter from Sanday, acknowledging the copy of the correspondence with Ingram. He is dubious about breaking the law: but expresses himself very severely with respect to Gore.
A telegram from Ernest told me that he goes to Salonika tonight. The total amount of "fresh money" subscribed to the War Loan was stated in Parliament last night to exceed £100,000,000.
