760th day

Cruickshank came to see me. He has been to consult a doctor, and is ordered to take a month's rest. I said he might get off on the 18th inst:, and I would make myself responsible for the rest of the month. The "Times" contains my little letter 'A contrast & a Protest' (v.p.424). Three of the Church papers print my little screed anent the Mission Council; but the "Challenge" does not. This is not without significance. I wrote to Olive, Addis, & some others: attended Mattins & Evensong: walked round Houghall with Logic.
