The country is covered with snow: & the river is in some places frozen across. I wrote a long letter to Willie Temple in answer to a rather confused letter of his, sent in acknowledgement of a copy of my crypt sermon, which I had sent him. I attended Evensong. Mr Justice Atkin & his wife with the Marshal came to tea, and were shewn over the Deanery.
