313th day

A very warm day, becoming sultry towards the close. I attended the opening of the additions to the County Hospital. The Bishop of Durham, & the Earl of Durham were the principal functioners. A swarm of bees has established itself in a fissure high up on the wall of Bishop Quirk's house. It is muttered that the Zeppelin raid on Hull was a formidable affair, many persons being killed, and much property being destroyed. How loathsome a thing is war!
