This is a black week for the British Fleet. Two more ships are reported lost, one by torpedoes at the Dardanelles, another by accident at home. I started work upon a sermon for June 10th, when I preach to the 'Churchmen's Union'. Miss Pinkney lunched here. I attended Evensong, & afterwards joined the other Trustees of the Barry Scholarship in their meeting in the Chapter House. The Duke of Northumberland, as Chancellor of the University, presided.
