215th day

I presided at a meeting of Chapter. A sum of £100 was voted for the better arrangement of the documents in the Treasury. Of this half was to be paid to Mr Hardy of the Record Office as an honorarium, and half to be placed at his disposal for the payment of a competent clerk. After lunch I shewed a party of 40 members of the Armstrong College Historical Society over the Cathedral and Deanery. Then I attended Evensong, &, later, walked for an hour with Watson. Hugh Lyon arrived for the week end.
