130th day
I attended a meeting of the National Relief Fund Committee. It is clear that money is being wrongly expended at Chester–le–Street. Old Galbraith muttered something about corrupt Trade–union officials. Lady Londonderry was there, & expressed herself with some vigour. Later in the day, Beeching & his daughters, Harriet & Nancy, arrived. Culley & his wife dined here. Gee came to see me after dinner, and asked me to write to the P.M. soliciting a knighthood for Jevons!!!
