I wrote to Mary Scott, telling her to get married as soon as possible! She will never be free of what she calls "duties": her primary duty is to carry out her purpose of marriage without delay. If only one's own way of duty were as evident, one might be thankful indeed. Also I wrote to Raleigh: and to Sir Peile Thompson. The last has some cranky project for utilizing the Belgian immigration for the benefit of the "Old Catholics". I attended a meeting of the Durham National Emergency League, & wasted an hour.
