38th day
A day of wind with cooler temperatures, distinctly autumnal in feeling. I laboured at a sermon for the Dedication Festival at Norwich Cathedral: attended Evensong: motored to Blaydon on the Tyne, & joined Lord Durham at another recruit–hunting meeting. Culley went with me. On my return I held an extraordinary Chapter to deal with the cases of Steinthal & Morgan, & to appoint Bp. Quirk 'Acting Treasurer'.
